Emergency Fundraising Campaign - How We're Doing
November 23, 2009
From the desk of our Executive Director, Pamela Morton:
Thank you to everyone who responded to our urgent appeal in October. We are encouraged by the outpouring of support.
Let me tell you how we’re doing. As of November 23rd we have raised over $100,000. The DrawBridge extended community has been amazingly generous and supportive. We are so grateful that we can now keep our expressive arts program running through February 2010.
Yet we still need your help. Please make a donation to keep our one-of-a-kind program alive through 2010. It is people like you who make our work possible.
We have just begun to celebrate our 20th anniversary, and as an organization, we are proud to have served more than 20,000 children during these past two decades.
Let me share with you a recent story from the Program Director at one our sites.
“ ‘Bubba’ stopped in to see me today; he starts culinary school next month! He was at our center a few years ago as a young teenager. He was withdrawn, his grades at school were slipping, and he wouldn’t participate in any programs. After a week or two I asked him to pick just one activity to attend. He chose Drawbridge and LOVED IT. This helped bring him out of his shell. I credit you and your facilitators for being a big part of this young man’s success. Thank you so much.”
Please make a gift today in support of other vulnerable children like Bubba. You can be a part of their healing and future success in life.
I thank you in advance for your continued generosity. For more specific budget information, I can be contacted by phone or email.
Pamela F. Morton
Executive Director
P.S. Please join our DrawBridge Kids Fan Club! With a monthly contribution starting at just $25, you can help to sustain DrawBridge for years to come.
