Always free for the families we serve, DrawBridge provides children ages five and up a safe and supportive environment to connect with their community and explore playful creativity that is critical to healthy development.

DrawBridge is currently seeking qualified candidates for the following positions:


Drawbridge Executive Director

Reports to: Board of Directors
Status: Full time, exempt; remote position for SF Bay Area resident with ability to travel to San Rafael, meetings, and program sites across the region as needed
Salary Range: $90,000 – $120,000 
Hours: 40 hours per week; some evenings and weekends as required

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing administration, programs, and strategic planning for the organization. The position requires a dynamic, visionary professional with a passion for hands-on operations and ability to foster growth of DrawBridge art programs. The Director works with the Board of Directors in the creation, implementation, and evaluation of a strategic plan and community engagement strategy to guide DrawBridge toward the fulfillment of its mission and goals.

Essential Job Requirements

  • Fulfills all leadership obligations as Executive Director and develops priorities as defined by and in partnership with the Board; serves as the organization’s primary point of contact
  • Responsible for the administration, policymaking, budget oversight, staffing, and strategic initiatives of the organization
  • Develops, implements, and promotes the philosophy of DrawBridge programs that further mission, values, and brand throughout the region
  • Leads and strengthens fundraising endeavors utilizing local, regional, and national resources.
  • Oversees and actively supervises programs, fundraising, and operational costs ensuring financial sustainability while making consistent progress in achieving the organization’s mission and expansion of services across Northern California
  • Engages in proactive community outreach and promotes a positive image of the organization to civic organizations, businesses, and media
  • Leads donor development, corporate sponsorships, grant writing, and fundraising activities
  • Provides executive leadership and direction for staff, supporters, and other stakeholders
  • Oversees and provides annual evaluations of direct reports including Program Manager; regularly reviews quality of work by consultants and independent contractors
  • Supervises Program Manager’s efforts to recruit and onboard facilitators and volunteers, oversees contract/payment negotiations for new sites and develops and implements training programs for facilitators and volunteers
  • Works with the Communications Consultant to develop and manage an effective communications strategy including print, media, PR, social media, and web
  • Reviews content and look/feel of current marketing materials and recommends updates as needed
  • Works with the Bookkeeper/Accountant in the management of DrawBridge’s financial documents, donor database, and payroll processes
  • Actively engages in fiscal management through hands-on budgetary development and oversight; routinely reports performance and financial activities to the Board
  • Identifies, secures, and increases funding sources that include but are not limited to grants, foundations, corporations, and individuals
  • Actively recruits for and supports the development of an expanded Board of Directors

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Embraces collaborative leadership style as well as a thoughtful approach to strategic planning, organizational leadership, and day-to-day management
  • Possesses a strong passion for DrawBridge’s mission to inspire creativity and self-confidence in the children we serve
  • Demonstrates outstanding communication skills and ability to successfully interact with media, staff, and the community
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with a broad community of diverse individuals and groups
  • Willingness to participate actively in the organization’s schedule of activities and events including weekdays, evenings, and weekends as needed. Comfortable participating in expressive art programs 
  • Demonstrated track record of designing and directing strategies that enhance and support organizational capacity, fundraising growth, and program impact
  • Possesses extensive fundraising experience including writing and managing grants, seeking and securing major gifts, implementing annual giving campaigns, and the production of fundraising events
  • Experience in fiscal management and collaboration with the Board to secure budget approvals

Qualifications

  • Master’s Degree or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in the fields of arts, arts administration, child development, education, psychology, social sciences, or nonprofit management
  • Five to ten years as a successful nonprofit management leader, ideally based in an arts or organization with a cultural mission
  • Experience using current technologies, social media, web design, and marketing strategies. Current platforms include WordPress, Mailchimp, Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Familiarity with donor and payroll software is a plus.
  • Candidates bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or Arabic a plus

Art Group Facilitators (Hybrid/Remote)

Reports to: Program Manager
Status: Part-time, non-exempt; $20 per hour
Hours: 3-15 hours per week depending on program need; afternoons to early evening; some weekends as required

DrawBridge is currently seeking candidates to serve as Art Group Facilitators across the San Francisco Bay Area. Training, program support, professional development opportunities, and art supplies are provided.

Essential Job Requirements

  • In collaboration with the Program Manager and programs team, develops and leads weekly, bi- monthly, and/or monthly expressive art groups for children at shelters, affordable housing facilities, community centers, or at community events across the San Francisco Bay Area
  • Participates in monthly staff meetings with Program Manager and attends DrawBridge trainings and professional development workshops throughout the year
  • Develops and submits program plans and materials supplies requests to Program Manager as requested
  • Oversees setup and breakdown of program spaces before and after each session and maintains cleanliness and organization of program areas
  • Maintains and submits accurate attendance records, supplies inventory, and monthly program reports
  • Assists with the distribution of program surveys and evaluations throughout the year
  • Accurately tracks and submits payroll hours in a timely manner
  • Notifies Program Manager immediately of schedule changes, requests, or concerns from site partners or families
  • Arrives at assigned sites on time to run programs as scheduled
  • Follows and abides by DrawBridge’s Covid-19 and workplace safety protocols and site partner safety protocols
  • Complies with DrawBridge’s policies and procedures as summarized in the Employee Handbook

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Demonstrated experience working with children ages 5-18, preferably in an educational or professional setting
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills, initiative, sound judgment, positive attitude, and ability to work independently as well as in a team environment
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Willingness and ability to travel to site partner locations to produce programs
  • Comfort with technology, email, zoom, and online communication

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience, training, or education in the fields of art, child development, education, psychology, or the social sciences preferred; candidates enrolled in an accredited university working toward a degree in a related field are welcomed
  • Candidates bilingual in Spanish, Mandarin, or Arabic are strongly encouraged to apply

Internship Opportunities at DrawBridge

DrawBridge internships are a wonderful opportunity for students to gain real world experience in nonprofit management and expressive arts programming. Working with DrawBridge administrative staff, each three-month unpaid internship is fully remote and offered for Spring, Summer, and Fall semesters. Estimated hours are up to 10 hours per week, with flexible work schedules allowed.

Graphic Design Intern (Remote/Unpaid)

DrawBridge is seeking a graphic design intern (remote/unpaid) to assist with the development of creative assets for web, social media, and print materials in support of DrawBridge’s free expressive arts programs for children at homeless shelters, affordable housing facilities, and community centers across the San Francisco Bay Area. Working with the Executive Director, each three-month unpaid internship is fully remote. Estimated hours are up to 10 hours per week, with flexible work schedules allowed.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program; coursework focus in commercial art, graphic design, or design preferred
  • Available to work remotely with flexible schedule
  • Excellent knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite
  • Experience with WordPress a plus

Arts Program Intern (Remote/Unpaid)

DrawBridge is seeking an arts program intern (remote/unpaid) to assist with the development of educational materials and activities in support of DrawBridge’s free expressive arts programs for children at homeless shelters, affordable housing facilities, and community centers across the San Francisco Bay Area. Working with the Executive Director and Programs Manager, this three-month unpaid internship is fully remote. Estimated hours are up to 10 hours per week, with flexible work schedules allowed. Additional opportunities to participate in in-person programs are available for Bay Area candidates but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program; coursework in arts education, art therapy, education, or expressive arts preferred
  • Available to work remotely with flexible schedule
  • Experience with K-12 audiences a plus

Working with the Executive Director, this three-month unpaid internship is fully remote. Estimated hours are up to 10 hours per week, with flexible work schedules allowed.

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university program; coursework in communications, business, or philanthropy preferred
  • Available to work remotely with flexible schedule
